How is the Catalyst different from Iron Embers' signature fire pits?
The Catalyst is our Select Series — designed for customers who want a reliable, well-made fire pit without the full customization options. It comes in two sizes, one finish, and ships quickly. There are no material upgrades, cutout options, or grill adapters. It also carries a 5-year guarantee instead of the 10-year guarantee that comes with our signature line.
Can I cook on the Catalyst?
Yes — with the Adjustable BBQ Grill with Ground Stake, which works over any open fire without connecting to the pit itself. It's a flexible, no-fuss setup that pairs naturally with the Catalyst's simple design.
Does the Catalyst come with a spark screen?
No — the spark screen is a separate add-on available in both sizes. It has a hinged door for easy log access. We recommend adding one if you plan to burn regularly, especially in a covered or enclosed space.
What's the lead time on the Catalyst?
The Catalyst typically ships within 2–4 business days. It's our most in-stock item. If you need it by a specific date, contact us and we'll confirm availability before you order.
Is the Catalyst available for pickup?
Yes. All Iron Embers orders are available for free pickup by appointment from our Guelph, ON facility. It's the fastest way to get it into your hands. Contact us to arrange a time.
